Fences and railings that last
Corten®* Steel’s extraordinary characteristics of mechanical resistance, to wear and weathering are particularly appreciated in the United States where for over five years it has been used for electricity poles. A study carried out in the USA has analysed more than 20 works done for over 25 years, noting that Corten®* steel with its characteristic self-protecting natural patina is a material particularly adapted to last a long time. Better even than traditional galvanized or painted steel. And Cortensafe is particularly attractive and blends into the landscape.

The posts can be installed using various methods. In any case, installation is easy and immediate: maintenance workers and ecological operators, for example, can install them themselves, thanks to the simplicity of the work and the detailed instruction booklet.
Through our experts, we also provide a consulting service suggesting the installation system best suited for your project, helping you get reduced installation time and “less inconvenience related to work in progress”.
Applications and fixing systems
Having evaluated the field of application, there is a choice of methods of installation. Below is a short description of the most popular types: removable posts, with side bracket, or customised…
Below: example of fixing the new fence to the ground using the system of the wooden fence being replaced, as wear has made it dangerous. Here is an example of replacing an old fence done in Bolzen (Italy).
Elements customised for your project
Standard elements are processed so the holes in the rails line up with each other, as seen in the image below left, taken from a job done in Bolzen (Italy). In this way the rails are parallel to the road and form an angle of 90° to the posts.
What if there are slopes?
We ask you to tell us about the characteristics of your project and, in particular, of the slopes, so we can prepare the holes with the inclination required to accommodate the rails. For example, in the image below right of a job done in Pisa you can see how some parts of the fence have rails at an angle of 30° while in other “standard” parts posts and rails form angles of 90°.

Removable Cortensafe posts with concreted-in post support
Main advantages
- The protective patina forms on the entire post and ensures the material lasts;
- The post support can be concreted-in or cast in resin on any reinforced concrete base;
- The clamp system is easy and quick to install, making use of any post supports already fixed to the ground;
- It is a removable system – local authorities often require the fences to be easily removable so they can clear banking or water courses, or for emergency intervention.
- This installation system is ideal whenever fences and railings must last for several decades.
Installation
The post supports are set directly in wet concrete or cast in resin on concrete strips or walls. Alternatively, holes can be made in the ground with a mechanical auger or excavator, filled with concrete and the post supports set into them.
Next, the tubular posts with pre-drilled holes are fixed by means of the special clamps supplied, which makes the fences easily removable, for example to clear banking, water courses or the like.

Installation
The UNP profiles are set directly into the ground using the pile driver. Next, the tubular posts with pre-drilled holes are fixed using the screws provided. The system speeds up installation of all our fencing systems and makes them easily removable, for example, to clear banking or water courses, or the like.

- Ideal for small jobs such as private gardens, as no machinery (e.g. pile driver) is required.
- It is a removable system

The system comprises a post with bracket already welded to the base and holes for fixing using plugs.

- Customisation from designer or client’s drawing
Installation
The brackets for fixing using plugs can be made from a drawing at customer request or for special applications. For example:
- with posts cut obliquely
- rails that avoid obstacles
- or brackets bent as required.

Advantages
Ideal when the posts are to be fixed to walls or concrete bases with particularly steep slopes
Installation
Cup holes or PVC pipes are prepared in the reinforced concrete base or wall; depending on requirements, the post can be fixed with chemical resins, so setting time is almost instantaneous, or with grout.
